Flag of Alaska
The state flag of Alaska was designed by 13 year-old Bennie Benson from Chignik, Alaska in 1926. In 1926 there was a flag-designing competition for Alaska schoolchildren. Bennie’s design was chosen from 142 designs. Benny drew three flags. One had a dog sled and two dogs on a bright green field. Another one showed a large mountain and the yellow sun. The third one had stars on a blue field. This one became the winner.

Looking for Alaska

looking for alaska ЕГЭ

The readers will A32_______ things about themselves they may have never known.

  • find
  • invent
  • open
  • discover

The readers will A32_______ things about themselves they may have never known. —

In A33_______, he critiqued novels for “The New York Times” Book Review.

  • contrast
  • addition
  • general
  • comparison

in addition — кроме того
in general — в общем
in comparison — для сравнения

He reviewed hundreds of books, particularly literary fiction. In A33_______, he critiqued novels for “The New York Times” Book Review.

His first novel “Looking for Alaska” was mostly A34_______ by his experience at a boarding school.

  • impressed
  • involved
  • inspired
  • included

be impressed at – впечатлен чем-либо
be inspired by – вдохновлен чем-либо/кем-либо
be included in – включен во что-либо

This book made the “Top 10 Best Book for Young Adults” and undoubtedly A35_______ it.

  • deserved
  • earned
  • defended
  • confirmed

deserve — заслуживать
earn — зарабатывать
defend — защищать
confirm — подтверждать

This book made the “Top 10 Best Book for Young Adults” and undoubtedly A35_______ it.

A36_______ of this, readers are able to recognize their own search for self-identity or labyrinths they must escape through the main characters.

  • Besides
  • Because
  • Instead
  • Despite

Там мы видим of this.

Здесь возможны два варианта: because of this — вследствие этого, поэтому, благодаря этому (в зависимости от контекста) и instead of this — вместо этого.

They no longer seem to behave like fictional characters, but rather real people that have similar problems and ideas as young adults nowadays.A36_______ of this, readers are able to recognize their own search for self-identity or labyrinths they must escape through the main characters.

Ответ: because

The characters in this story showed me the good and bad parts of life and still A37_______ me want to live through them.

  • turned
  • kept
  • held
  • made

Ответ: made

This novel generated a spectrum of emotions with each page and I could A38_______ put it down.

  • hardly
  • merely
  • really
  • nearly

This novel generated a spectrum of emotions with each page and I could A38_______ put it down.

    Singing in the car
My elder brother likes all kinds of music. He prefers jazz but also listens to pop music and sometimes goes to classical music concerts. But when driving _I_ in his car, he insists on listening to heavy-metal music.
For a long time I _NOT CAN_  understand why he was doing it.
He knew very well that for me it was the _BAD_ kind of music.
One day I decided to ask him why he always chooses this type while driving. “Well, sister,” he reluctantly replied, “to be frank, it’s mainly so you can’t sing along.” He added that he _LISTEN_ to anything else if only I promised not to sing along.

Some of the questions were so difficult that
