Some people think that environmental problems are the most dangerous whereas others don’t agree.
I think that nowadays environmental catastrophe is the biggest threat. First of all, global worming can bring us a lot of troubles. If the ice melts, a lot of countries will be flooded. Second, Ozone holes can cause the death of a lot of lands. Also bad food, air and water can be the reason of various diseases.
At the same time there are people who say that overpopulation, lack of food and nuclear war can be even more dangerous.
In my opinion these people have a point. These threats can kill our planet too. Nevertheless, they are easier to control than environmental problems. Nuclear moratorium, new technologies allow us to solve these problems.
In conclusion I’d like to say that if we weigh all the facts that say that danger to the environment is the biggest problem against the ones that support other threats, we’ll see that the facts that support the statement outweigh those against.

In recent years the number of environmental problems has increased greatly. One of the most dangerous problems for our planet is global warming which means that most climates all over the world are changing and getting warmer. It happens because we burn too much petrol resources, such as oil and coal, and the Earth heats up. This process can cause melting of the polar ice and the sea level rising in the future. If the climate changes there will be floods, heavy storms or severe droughts in different areas of the world. Cutting down on exhaust fumes from vehicles could help solve this serious problem.
Our planet is overpopulated, that’s why we are using up our natural resources – they are not endless. So the scientists have started looking for some alternate forms of energy such as water, wind, sunlight and even tides. These resources are clean, natural and unlimited. I’m glad that modern automobile industries make hybrids which use electric or solar energy instead of petrol. It would definitely help protect our environment from pollution.
There are different kinds of environmental pollution: air pollution, water pollution, land pollution. Sadly, not all human beings realize or admit that we are the ones who cause these problems and we should be the first to stop them and protect our environment. Because of the industrial revolution the air is polluted with awful chemicals; seas and oceans are poisoned with oil spills. Many rare species of flora and fauna are threatened with extinction.
We should be proud to live on our wonderful planet and understand that the consequences of pollution might be terrible and affect us and our children later. We should start recycling things made of glass, paper, plastic and aluminium. We should stop smoking and plant as many trees as we can because they can give us more oxygen. We need to drive less and use public transport in order to reduce fuel burning. We are responsible for the situation.

Environmental problems have become exceptionally acute in the modern world and environmental protection has become a vital necessity for all people.
Our planet is in serious danger. One of the most important environmental problems in the world today is the shortage of clean water. Industrial pollution has made many sources of water undrinkable. Rivers, lakes and even seas have become poisonous. Thousands of fish die every year as a result of the illegal dumping of waste in rivers by factories all over the world.
Lake Baikal is one of the world’s largest and most beautiful lakes. It contains a rich variety of fish and plants, including 1,300 rare species that do not exist anywhere else in the world. However, they are being killed by the massive industrial waste, which some factories still pour into the lake every day. A few years ago people thought that the supply of clean water was limitless. Now clean water is scarce, and we are beginning to respect this precious resource. We must protect the clean water that remains for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
Air pollution is another important problem. In hundreds of cities and towns the concentration of harmful substances in the air is over ten times the admissible level. Every day a huge number of plants and factories emit lots of harmful substances into the atmosphere of big cities. The great increase in the use of motor cars in the last quarter of the 20th century has caused an increase in a new kind of air pollution. Pollution from factories and cars poisons the air we breathe and is the main reason for the greenhouse effect and acid rains.
The acid rain can damage life in lakes and rivers and destroy forests. Greenhouse effect may also have disastrous consequences for our planet. It is already affecting several areas of the world with unusual weather causing droughts or heavy storms. The world’s temperature is going up and the climate is changing. Cutting down on emissions from large plants and exhaust fumes from vehicles could help solve the problem. I think we should try and use alternative energy such as solar energy and wind energy, and design plants and cars that run on electricity, a much cleaner fuel than petrol.
One of the most alarming environmental problems is depletion of the ozone layer, which protects the Earth from the dangerous ultraviolet rays of the sun. Because of the ozone holes the dangerous rays get through the atmosphere, causing skin cancer and other serious diseases. Many scientists think that these ozone holes are the result of air pollution.
In my opinion, the most urgent ecological problem today is the environmental safety of nuclear power stations. Nuclear pollution can’t be seen but its effects can be terrible. We all know how tragic the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster are. Nuclear waste also endangers people’s lives. People all over the world protest against nuclear tests and nuclear weapons. If we do not take any action, the possibility of a global nuclear disaster is very real.
Of course, we can’t help mentioning such burning issues as destruction of tropical forests and wildlife, overpopulation and shortage of natural resources. The list of serious ecological problems could be continued.
In short, people have destroyed our environment by building huge cities and power stations, developing industries, cutting down trees and excavating mountains. In pursuit of new inventions and discoveries, as well as higher and higher profits, man has forgotten about nature, and it has led him to the edge of ecological catastrophe. Ignorance about ecology may lead to further destruction of nature and worsen living conditions for all living beings.

It goes without saying that solving environmental problems is an urgent thing to do. Some people think that home-working is really helpful in terms of saving our planet, whereas others consider that telecommuting has nothing to do with ecology.
I think that teleworking helps a lot in terms of saving our planet. First of all, there are fewer people who use cars to commute. As a result, the air becomes less polluted. Secondly, remote workers typically use cloud-based applications to send messages and create documents. This results in less paper consumption each day. The less paper people use, the more trees are saved.
However, there are some people who have a different view on this issue. They believe that environmental problems cannot be solved with the help of telecommuting. To start with, not many people work from home. The number of cars is not reduced significantly and therefore, it has no effect on air pollution. Furthermore, home-base telecommuting is likely to create trips within the area as people have flexible working schedule. Consequently, more traffic in local areas means even more environmental pollution.
I do not agree with the opinion mentioned above. Working from home is a good solution to environmental problems. Even a small reduction in the number of cars will reduce air pollution. Within a short distance, people will walk or ride bikes thereby saving nature.
In conclusion, I would like to state that there are opposing views on this issue. At first sight working from home seems to be totally useless, but in actual fact it has a positive effect on nature. Thus, I strongly believe that home working helps to solve environmental problems.

IV Example of the body of the essay
With the progress of humanity a lot of environmental problems have appeared. They spoil people’s life, so humans try to overcome them, at least to reduce level of pollution. However, many people think environmental problems are not their concern, and the authorities should take care of nature.
To my mind, if you want to change the world, you should change yourself first. You can talk about environmental problems and not take action. The government cannot solve these issues without support of citizens. First of all, people ought to love and respect wildlife. Besides, they have to be active and responsible for not relying on the government in all cases. For instance, everybody can throw rubbish into bins and use plastic bags several times etc.
Other people believe only government is able to protect the environment. Firstly, they are sure citizens are not born with the desire to be environmentally friendly. The government has to adopt the laws and make people follow them. Secondly, the government has funds to implement nature-protecting programs.
I cannot agree with this point of view. As for me, despite the good will the authorities are not able to keep an eye on putting these laws into practice. So they are useless. In addition, the government has other important purposes to spend money as pensions, housing, improving of infrastructure etc.
In conclusion, I want to say that government and citizens should take action together to protect the environment and not to kill themselves.

Let me answer your questions about
environmental problems. Well, in my region the biggest ecological problems are
water and soil pollution. I live near famous southern resort which is usually
filled with tourists. They leave garbage at the beaches and destroy our
ecology. Actually, young people in my country try to save the environment by organizing
cleaning up days and participating in green parties. As for recycling, it isn`t
really popular in Russia because we don`t have proper equipment and even
special bins for plastic, paper and glass.
I want to ask you some questions about the
Italian course. How long will it last? What skills does the course require? Is it free?

40.1 This year I am doing a project on what is important to
get a job in Zetland. I have found some relevant data on this subject organised
in a table and now I am going to analyse my findings.
As it can be seen from the table, there are five main
prerequisites while getting a job. Firstly, objective self-assessment is
selected by the majority of the respondents (34%). Secondly, a carefully
written CV (26%) is followed by the necessity of an active ambitious nature
(21%). Another key feature is that an optimistic attitude is chosen by a very
small number of the surveyed (5%). That is why this factor is put at the bottom
of the table.
It is worth mentioning that a carefully written CV
(26%) is twice as popular as communication skills (14%) which shows that it is
important for the applicants to prove their abillities and achivements with
proper documents. Moreover, there is a small difference between objective
self-assessment and a carefully written CV (26%). It makes up 8%. It is
unsurprisingly because with the help of this points it is possible to make a
good impression on the boss.
One problem that can arise with applying for a job is
that sometimes it can be hard to write a resume which can emphasize all your good
qualities. Moreover, it is necessary to follow a strict structure. Fortunately,
you can find an expert who can advise you how to create a portfolio which will
be favoured by the employer.
In conclusion, I think that the most important factor to get a job is a
good prepared pack of documents.
