On my Christmas Holidays I didn’t have any day I didn’t make anything.
On 25th December I went to my grandpa and my grandma’s house to have the Christmas lunch. In the afternoon I went to see “Pastorets”, and in the evening I stayed in my home with my family and we watched the TV.
On 26th December I went to my other grandma’s house for having another Christmas lunch. And in the afetrnoon I went to see “Pastorets again.
In 31st December I went to campelles with my cousin and my aunt, and two other families and we slept two nights in a hotel. In the night we ate the grapes at 00:00, we laughed a lot and we had fun.
In the morning of 5th Jenuary I went to visit the “pageboys” of the kings and in the evening I went with my little cousin to give the letter to the kings of “Orient”.
And on 6th I opened the presents in my house and at my grandmpa’s house and we had lunch, and for dessert we ate the ring-shaped cake of the kings.
I had a very nice Christmas holidays… But there were very short!!!

Im my Christmas hollidays I stayed at home, but one day I went to Barcelona becuse my grandmother was ill.
The days: 25, 26, 27, 28 and 1 there were “Pastorets” performance. It is very funny but very stressing too!These year my frien Paula mane to do it. But she didn’t liked it very much.
For new year day I went to “Fell good” with my friend Germina, but wee came in I stayes all the time with other people. It were very funny!=)

The holidays started on the 19th December,when we finished the classes at 3 o’clock.That Friday was very funny because all the college did a Christmas party with performances, dances and we sang some songs: War is over and a mixture of Christmas commercial advertisements.
The Christmas day was nice. I received some presents and my family and I had a delicious lunch.Although I was ill, I acted in “Pastorets” with 40º C of fever and it was very well!
We celebrated the Nem Year in a hotel, in Campelles, with my cousin and my mum. Next day we went to the mountain to touch the snow.
Another special day was the “Three Kings’ day”, but I liked more if the Kings had left me deliver their presents by helicopter.
I enjoyed this holidays very much but they have been very short.

On Christmas day I had lunch with my family.
In the afternoom ny sister and I went to see the “Pastorets”.
It was funny and some of our friends acted in it.

On New year I celebrated it with my family. We ate an special dinner and I celebrated the traditional “Twelve Bells”.

In these days, I had more time to read and ride bike. I also could go out more with my friends.
On the 25th of December I had lunch with my father’s family; we celebrated Christmas and “Sant Esteve” eating delicious nougats!
New Year’s Eve was unforgettable with the grape and the 12 strokes!! Besides with the friends and the family, of course.
The night of kings it was quite intriguing because I didn’t know what they would bring me.
That night I could not sleep!! The following day I alredy expected the morning to be able to go down to the dinig room to search the gifts impatient.
It was the best day of the holidays for me! But not everything lasts forever because on Thursday I had to come back to the high institute again.

I celebrated my holidays in my house and I celebrated the father Christmas. I decorated the tree. The 25th and 26th of December I went to Paladium theatre to see the “Pastorets” performance. This Chrismas, when it snowed, I went to the mountain and it was very funny!!! I enjoyed a lot with my family, and with all my friends. During this days my mother prepared a lot of food; meat, fish, shripms etc. Every two days my parents brought me to the free buffet, in the restaurant. I did not travel to any place, for the simple reason that my mother does not like to travel in winter, because she thinks that there are a lot of traffic accidents.

New Year is the best of holydays. At New Year’s Eve always appears this strange expectation of something big, new and great. Joyful atmosphere is all around. Everybody is busy picking nice Christmas trees, presents and feasts for holyday table. It seems like fairytale since childhood.
Preparations for this celebration are starting early. Everything begins with general cleaning. Than rooms are decorating with beautiful toys, garlands, holiday lights and candles. But most beautiful decorations are New Year and Christmas wreaths with conifer branches, bright ribbons and figures of angels.
Dishes on holyday table are always special. And the most important moment of celebration is coming of New Year with chiming clock. Last toll marks beginning of grand firework which may last for whole hour. Than all guests, relatives and friends, begin celebrations with dances and contests which last for the whole night. And first thing to do at next is to check all presents.
It is best when whether at New Year is cold and snowy. Colorful lights are flashing in all windows. Everybody is celebrating and having fun. Apparently because New Year is mutual celebration it is so much fun to celebrate it.

There are a lot of holidays during the year. Some of them are national, some of them are private or religious but one holiday is celebrated all over the world. It is New Year. This holiday can be called international as each person on our planet enjoys celebrating it.
New Year is a magical time when all the miracles seem to come true. People have a great opportunity to look at their deeds and events during the previous year in order to decide what to do further. All of us are full of hope and joy. We are eager to believe that the New Year is able to be much better. We hope that it brings only the Good and this thought makes us happy.
Before New Year people usually draw the line of theirs aims and plans. They try to finish all incomplete duties and solve all the problems in order to leave all negative things in the past. People decorate theirs houses with bright and sparkling New Years tree. Children write long letter to Santa Claus with all their wishes. Mothers and wives cook special tasty New Years dinner. It is the great moment to spend all the time with people you love.
Each nation has its own rituals concerning New Year celebration like for example, Italians who throw away all the unnecessary things. But in spite of all national differences each of us hopes for better life and optimistic future. We are all the same whispering our devout desires as the clock strikes 12 times.

Dear Jackie,
Thanks for your letter. I’m awfully sorry for not replying sooner.
Frankly speaking, Christmas which is celebrated on the 7 of January in our country, isn’t so popular as New Year’s Day. At Christmas night lots of people go to church to mark the birth of Jesus Christ. Children enjoy singing carols. As my father is a priest in the local church, I always help him in the altar during the mass. I like Christmas best of all because the solemn moments of the holiday make me feel happy.
We also celebrate Women’s Day, Easter, Victory Day, Day of People’s Unity and Independence Day.
By the way, how do you celebrate Easter in Britain? Are there any Halloween traditions you don’t like? When do you mark Mothers’ Day?

Dear Paul,
Thank you for your letter. I hope all’s going well.
You know, we don’t actually celebrate April Fools’ Day but sometimes we play pranks on our classmates and friends.
As for Russian holidays, the most popular among them are New Year’s Day and Christmas. We usually decorate a New Year tree, send colourful e-cards and give presents to our friends and relatives. New Year’s Day is considered to be a family holiday that’s why most people stay at home to see the New Year in.
Also we celebrate Women’s Day, Victory Day and Independence Day. You may attend concerts and fireworks that take place in many cities throughout the country.
It’s great you’ve got a new phone! Is it a touch screen smartphone? Can you email from it? What options does your new phone have?

Dear Jane,
Thanks for your letter. It is nice to hear from you again.
It’s great Christmas is coming! Do you know that in Russia we celebrate it on 7 January? Church-goers and common people head to church at Christmas night. Children go from door to door singing Christmas carols and people give them sweets, fruit and some money. Kutya is a traditional Christmas dish in Russia.
But lots of people like New Year’s celebrations most of all. They decorate a fir-tree, send greeting cards and give presents to their nearest and dearest. New Year’s Day is strongly connected with «Olivye» slad and tangerines in people’s minds. Children have New Year parties at school too.
By the way, what is Boxing Day? Do you know any Christmas carols? Do you still believe in Santa Claus?
