My Future Plans
This year I am going to leave school. Before people leave school, they understand that the time to choose their future profession has already come. It’s not an easy task to make a right choice.
Someone goes further in his education and enter an institute, university or college. Other can start a working career, go into business. There are many universities and institutes in every big city. Our city is not an exception.
If we want to get a professional training, we can enter a technical college. There is a huge number of professions to choose. But we should take our time while choosing our future profession. Some children choose profession their parents want, others do it in their own way while choosing their profession and there are some boys arid girls, who want nothing. Anyway it is a dilemma for all the family.
Fathers usually want their children to follow their footsteps. Mothers don’t want their sons and daughters to leave the native town or city. So, they persuade kids to enter local colleges and universities or institutes. To find out the best from the best, we should work a lot.
Because of the wide difference in jobs, we should find out all available information about any possible job. We also need to think about how well we can do what we would like to do. We have got to know the demand for professions on the local employment market.
To make the right choice, we should consider our possibilities, characters arid abilities. To become a good doctor, you must be patient, easygoing and smart» The teacher’s work requires love for children, much patience, profound knowledge of subjects and the ability to explain and to teach. Detective’s job is very stressful. He must be brave, reasonable, smart, fair and strong and have extraordinary brains.
By the beginning of the last year, I wanted to become a doctor. I thought it was a very prestigious profession. I was good at biology and zoology at the 8 and 9 forms. I wanted to help people, who had problems with their health. I know that a doctor should be noble in work and life, kind and attentive to people, honest and prudent. Can you imagine living in the year 2500? Maybe people will spend their holidays on the moon, or play with their pets in the virtual reality.
People all over the world wonder about life in the future. According to the recent surveys, people have their fears and hopes. For example, it is believed that human relationships will change a lot.
People will make friends and find their future spouses through the Internet. It happens a lot now, but in the future, it will happen more often. Other people say, that we won’t need so much real human contact, so we will become more isolated from each other.
There will be lots of changes in education too. Because of the computer programmes, children won’t need certain abilities like mental arithmetic or writing by hand.
Our home life in the future will be better. Robots will be doing all our housework and the food will be ready-made, so we will have lots of free time. A lot of people believe, that we might cook just for fun. Others think that we will be eating food pills.
Most of the people say that space exploration will become increasingly popular, we will visit Mars frequently. Travelling on the Earth will also probably change: there will only be environmentally-friendly traffic. But there are people who are worried about air pollution in the future very much.
On the other hand, most of the people seem to be quite optimistic, because they see the progress of the medicine, and especially the genetic engineering. The scientists will find a cure for cancer and AIDS, so the society will be much healthier.

According to the survey, home life will be better. Most people believe that by 2050 robots will be doing the housework and we will be eating ready-made food. A lot of people think that we might only cook for fun in the future.
Space exploration will become increasingly popular. Fifty per cent of the people we talked to believe that man will regularly visit Mars. They also believe that travel on our own planet will probably change. Almost everyone thinks that there will be no cars in the city centers. Some even think that environmentally-friendly electric or solar-powered cars will have replaced the cars we use nowadays. Pollution is something that seems to worry many people. Some fear that it will continue to get worse, and that our planet will become impossible to live on. Others even foresee that one day we’ll have to pay for clean air just like we do now for clean water.
On the other hand, people seem to be quite optimistic about the benefits of genetic engineering, as they think scientists will use it to cure diseases like cancer and AIDS. If scientists manage to find a cure for these, we’ll have a much healthier society. Some people worry about the future, while others are full of hope and enthusiasm. No matter how dark or bright it may seem, it is up to us to look after our planet and try to make it a better place to live.
