Like anybody else, I would like to live in a house that is perfect in every way. And now I will tell you about the house of my dream.
I would like my house to be somewhere in a quiet and cozy town by the sea or just in a warm and sunny place because I do not like cold and winter. My house is not very big and it is two-storeyed. It is built of bricks and painted white, and its roof is made of tiles in a bright blue color, so it looks fresh and cool even when the weather is hot.
Around my house there is a large courtyard with flower beds and a rose garden. There are also beautifully trimmed shrubs, and in the far corner of the yard there are two pines between which a hammock is stretched. Near my house there is also a small pool with sun loungers around. The fence around the house is also made of bricks with nice wrought-iron gates.
A wide stone porch with a beautiful railing leads to the door of my house. Behind wide white double doors there is a spacious hall with walls painted beige and wrought-iron lamps on the wall and the ceiling. Nearby, there is a small beautiful hanger and a banquette to make it convenient to take off your shoes. Opposite the door there would be two armchairs and a table with fresh flowers or an elegant console.
On the ground floor of my house there is a kitchen, a dining room, and a living room. I love the Provence interior design, so the living room is spacious, with beige or white furniture, charming chandeliers made of white frosted glass, and a pastel carpet on the floor. On the windows there are curtains with large floral patterns, and by the sofa there is a coffee table made of wood. There are also several small tables for lamps and vases with fresh flowers.
The kitchen and dining room are designed in the same style as the living room. By the window there is a large desk and a convenient mirrored bookcase above it. Further from the window there is a large suede sofa and a comfortable pink beanbag. On the opposite wall there is a TV-set.
My elder daughter is a teenager, so she chose peach, white, and turquoise for her room. In her room there is a wide single bed, a comfortable desk, a wardrobe, a window sill with pillows to admire the view from the window, a mirror, and an easel because she is fond of drawing. As for our bedroom, it is also Provence-designed, but it looks more modern, with large stained glass windows, a bed with a wrought-iron back, a wooden chest of drawers, wood wall panels, and pastel curtains. From the bedroom there is a way to the large walk-in closet where my clothes and shoes are stored.
This is how the house of my dream looks like. I hope I’ll have it someday.

Моя старшая дочь подросток, поэтому для своей комнаты она выбрала персиковый, белый и бирюзовый цвет. В ее комнате есть односпальная кровать, удобный письменный стол, шкаф, подоконник с подушками, чтобы любоваться видом из окна, зеркало и мольберт, потому что она увлекается рисованием. I would like to have my own cottage in a warm country near the sea. There would be a garden with various fruit trees and beautiful flowers in front of the house, where I would often walk listening to the birds singing.
I would live there with my husband, two children and a dog. I imagine my house to be a two-storey building. There would be a balcony and a terrace in my house. A wonderful landscape can be seen through the arched windows of the cottage.
My house would have several rooms with modern furniture and electrical appliances, which make our life more comfortable. My favourite room would be a huge library, where I would sit in the evenings reading books.
I always wanted to have a Persian carpet and a fireplace in the living-room. It would be very nice to drink coffee in my rocking chair watching the fire, especially during rainy days.
I would walk a wide staircase to get to my children’s rooms, which would be vast and bright, with colourful wallpapers. There would be lots of toys to play with.
There will be a stable behind the house with horses and ponies for us to ride.

The House of My Dream
Every person has his own idea of a perfect house.
Since the time immemorial people always wanted to make their dwelling a place, where one feels comfortable and cosy, where one always wants to come back to.
A dwelling of my dream is not a flat but a two-storeyed mansion. And as a real hostess I’d like to arrange everything in the house according to my taste. Now, let me tell you about my house. When you come to me, you push a big wooden front door, wiping your feet on the door-mat, and enter the hall. The floor is covered with a fitted carpet, the wallpaper is light and has a small pattern. There’s a seat and a small table near the wall and a huge mirror above it.
Then you enter the living-room. The bright full-length curtains are drawn back, and sunshine fills the room. The living-room suite, consisting of a sideboard, a bookcase, a sofa, an elegant coffee table and three armchairs, is arranged around three walls. There’s a video system near the window.
On the ground floor there’s also a kitchen and a bathroom. The kitchen is a very large room with a big window. There is a gas cooker with a hood, two wall-cupboards and a sink unit there. Near the opposite wall there is a dishwasher, a refrigerator and a table.
Let’s go upstairs and have a look at the bedroom. This is a very cosy and warm room. The bedroom suite consists of a bed, two bedside tables and a wardrobe. The window overlooks the back yard. In my house there is also a terrace, a garage and a garden and so many other things I’d like to have; at least, in my dream house.

Everyone likes dreaming. Dream is a hope for better things. It helps us to overcome the difficulties of our daily routine. A dream depends on people, on their education, nationality, character and other things. People imagine they have a lot of money, own family, an expensive car. Other people imagine themselves to be presidents of different countries or whole planets, etc.
I’d like to tell you about the house of my dream. I’d like to have my own house on the bank of a beautiful river with crystal water, surrounded by high mountains, covered with green forest of evergreen trees.
I would live there with my wife and two children. I imagine my house to be a 2 storeyed building. Near the front side it has a facade with columns and steps up to the front door. There are also two balconies and a terrace in my house. The windows are in the shape of arches. Through them you can see a wonderful landscape. There are lots of fir trees and flowers around the house. And you can walk in the shade of these trees listening to the birds singing.
As you come through the front door, you find yourself in a large hall with an open fireplace. One of the doors leads to the living room. This room faces the south, so it’s very sunny and has a lovely view of the whole valley. In the middle of this room there’s a thick Persian carpet.
There are few units of furniture in this room. On the left there’s a leather sofa and small table nearby, on the right you can see home cinema and satellite receiver. There are two armchairs in the corner of this room. In the living room we spend our evenings chatting with each other, children play with a kitten.
Then a wide staircase takes you to the first floor where there are four bedrooms. My children’s rooms are really vast. The wallpapers are very colourful in bright shapes. Also there are lots of toys to play with.
In the basement there is a big garage for our cars. We have got two cars: one for me and one for my wife.
Behind the house there is a swimming bath, covered with glass. There are some plastic armchairs around the swimming bath. Our house looks peaceful and calm and the calmest room is my study. Next door to the study there is our library. It is a huge room with thousands books on history, astronomy, physics, science fictions, fantasy, poetry, etc. Someone might think that it is an antagonism, because everything we want to read we can receive via Internet, but I like real books, to handle them in my hands, to read them page by page. As for my children, they prefer associating with their friends.
We have many different electrical appliances in our house. They make our life more comfortable. Also we have some robots to help us. They look after the house, grow vegetables in our garden and involved in cooking. So, we enjoy having greens and fresh vegetables on our dinner table during long winters. Our house is a beautiful place at any time of the year. In winter it’s warm and cozy, in summer there is so much to do outside.

At the end of the hall, there would be a staircase leading upstairs. I’d like to decorate the walls of the hall with famous artist’s reproductions of still life paintings. For me, these paintings would give person feelings of relaxation and serenity. The first room on the right would be the living-room which is quite large and full of light. Day light is essential for me so I’d like to have big windows in the living room. A door from the living room would lead to a small study where I could write, read books and work on my assignments. This small room would make me feel calm and attentive so I could focus my attention to my projects. Upstairs there would be bedroom and bathroom. Also, my bedroom would reflect my inner world and privacy so it would be painted with my favorite color which is blue. My view is that blue is the color that represents my feelings of harmony and peace. In short I can say that, the interior of my dream house is like my spiritual world so I’d decorate it in such a way that all the rooms, objects and colors would symbolize my true feelings.
The outer design of my dream house should be attractively decorated as much as the interior because I prefer to spend time outdoors. I desire to have magnificent gardens surrounding my house. The front garden should be full of flowers, bushes and fruit trees. The scent of flowers and fruit trees mixed in the air reminds me of heavenly moments filled with happiness and joy. The back garden should be very large so that I can have a lawn with a swimming pool. In addition, there would be another lawn which comes up to the patio. There would also be a flower bed near the back door and a path leading to the garden shed and the greenhouse, where I’d like to grow my own tomatoes, green peppers, parsleys, eggplants. Besides, there would be a large cage filled with different species of birds like peacocks or parrots. I’d let the door of the cage be open all the time for freedom is very important for me. Birds would come into the cage whenever they want to feed themselves. Watching colorful birds flying above my head while swimming in the pool would be a fantastic experience.
